Row, row, row your boat: Not all places require you to reserve a boat, but it's a good idea to do so.
Row east: past the Buntgarnwerke (former yarn factories) along the Weiße Elster to the Elstermühlgraben. It should take inexperienced rowers about 1 hour to get there.

Would you rather go for a walk and soak up the idyllic atmosphere on dry land? A tarmacked cycle and walking path lines the canal · Tip 138
Jimmy Orpheus is connected to the film rental specialist Filmgalerie WestEnd. A real gem for film buffs.
An ice cream to keep you going or a hot drink? An ice cream van visits the Sachsenbrücke on sunny days. And it just wouldn’t be the Sachsenbrücke without the coffee bike run by Leipzig roasters RöstGut.

It’s best to go through Clara Zetkin Park, passing the Parkbühne and the Racecourse Scheibenholz · Tip 63. This route is shorter and more beautiful.

Do you find swimming and sunbathing more tempting than rowing? »Then, pack your swimming costume!« for the ultimate in outdoor pools: the Schreberbad · Tip 105

Take everything you’ll need for a picnic and head off to Park of Lützschena Castle · Tip 21. Stop for a break at the nearby Auwald forest station · Tip 22.

Shopping can have a liberating effect too! Our special recommendation: Goldstein & Co. · Tip 66. Shop for jewellery from Luise Neugebauer · Tip 77 or at FLAMINGOCAT · Tip 80

Rent a bicycle and trundle off towards Wildpark · Tip 97. There you can stop for a quick break at the Russian cabin in the heart of the park. Once you’re ready, head further to Bistumshöhe & Shambala · Tip 99
